FIREPROOF Opens in Theaters September 26!
After all kinds of business analysis and discussion (along with lots of corporate prayer), FIREPROOF now has an official release date: Friday, September 26. This movie about a firefighter, his wife, and a marriage worth rescuing will open in movie theaters across the country on that date.

Opening Weekend Is Key
September 26 is the date to circle on your calendar. But don’t stop there. Make that circle big enough to encompass September 27 and 28 as well. That’s because the movie industry measures a film’s success and impact by how well it does on its opening weekend: Friday through Sunday.

While the impact of FIREPROOF is already being felt (see story below) and will continue to be felt for weeks, months, and years to come, Opening Weekend is the movie industry’s bellwether. When a movie has a strong opening, it expands into more theaters in more cities while continuing to play in the locations where it opened.

We heard from a man who recently saw FIREPROOF screening at a WinShape marriage conference. (WinShape is a FIREPROOF ministry partner.) The man had been on the verge of divorce until he was challenged by Stephen Kendrick to live out the heart of FIREPROOF. His wife was so intrigued by her “new and improved” husband that she was excited to go to WinShape with him. Here is the husband’s report from WinShape:

“God brought your new movie to me. I know it was meant for the whole group of people who gathered, but I know that my wife and I really benefited from the movie. The movie did amazing things for our marriage. I wanted you to know that your movie will bless many people from here on out. But even if it didn’t, I want you to know that you have blessed at least one marriage and I am forever thankful.”

Casting Crowns Song in FIREPROOF Debuts on Yahoo
When you see FIREPROOF, one of the great songs that you will hear is the new Casting Crowns single, “Slow Fade.” The song is on the band’s Beach Street Records release The Altar and the Door.

The music video for “Slow Fade” premieres today, Wednesday, May 21, on Yahoo music. It will be featured the entire day, so be sure to check it out today!

History Making Super Bowl

Filed under: Playbook Blog by: admin

Regardless of whether this years Super Bowl had your favorite team winning or not, or maybe you just like the commericals, there are a few cool things we can pull from this history making championship game.

As the Patriots were going for perfection by staying undefeated, they kept leaning on the word TEAMWORK as their reason for success. In our marriage, teamwork is critical, especially as it pertains to having a ‘playbook’ or plan for your relationship. You have to work together and talk out EVERY possible scenerio before it happens so that you can WIN in your marriage. When the Pat’s faced a tough team, they may have to tweek their ‘playbook’ a little but as a TEAM they pulled of one of the most impressive seasons in the history of football.

Now the Giants came into the season 0-2 and then went on to win 10 straight and the word for their success was labeled as RESILIANT. They didn’t let opinions or bad mouthing from media, fans or other teams keep them from their plan/goal of getting better with each game. Even in the aftermath of the Super Bowl, Giants Quarterback, Eli Manning said “watching his Big Brother win the year before motivated him to be better.” It’s other marriages around us, winning their games and learning from the experiences ‘on the field’ that inspire us. We start to hear the crowd in the back cheering you on and you feel like you can accomplish anything.

Out of these 2 words, TEAMWORK and RESILIANCY, it takes both to make your marriage work. It really takes more resiliance at times because the team is not always on the same page. We’re NOT going for perfection, we’re NOT going to be undefeated, however, as you go thru those tough times in life and learn to be honest with yourself about the things you need to change to have a better marriage, it’s your resiliancy that will stand the test of time and inspire other marriages to win their own Super Bowl.

The Moment of Truth

Filed under: Playbook Blog by: admin

If you’ve had the chance to see the new FOX show, “The Moment Of Truth”, then you might have already formed an opinion of whether it’s a show of controversy or not.
It may be controversial that you see the true side of people, but we do live in a world with this goes on everyday. We lie, steal, have affairs, look at inappropriate stuff on the net and We all do “little” things we don’t want others to know. That’s between you God as to what you do about it. So it’s not scandelious, just sad and judgemental.

As the show pertains to people reveiling secrects about their marriages, I’d say this show is very good. One, it opens up the line of communication that desperately needs to be in all marriages. Two, as a couple who might watch it, you will find that there are questions you may need to address in your own relationship.
It’s not that national TV is the place to annouce these things, but that’s a choice some people will make. That’s how Maury and Jerry Springer managed to make money off this side of people for years.

We’re not saying expose things in your relationship so that you can be insecure or make things harder. It’s the dark side, that we DON’T talk about, that can ruin the relationship. It’s talking about it and sheading light on it, that helps you draw closer to your spouse.
By planning and talking, you plan to succeed in your relationship.
